  • Holy crap you guys!!!! I had the volume cranked and totally jumped in my chair watching that video! No fricken way...and the back yard! What a complete shock it is to see it gone! That really sucks Tammy and you did such an awesome job on all those plants and everything! Plus your weather meter thingy broke too? Thank God the windows are holding up to it.

  • my question is why buy a house or condo in an area where these problems happen, then request help from federal government. wake up you wanted to have a home their now deal with it grow up, its like you know not to speed on freeways and then your upset when an accident that you might have caused happens wake up deal with it you play you pay

  • In general I agree -- do not buy something in a disaster-prone area and then expect the Feds to come and bail you out.

In our case we pay for all of our own repairs. We also made a major investment in our seawall -- out of our own pockets.

So, zero help from the Feds (or anybody else).

We choose to live in an awesome, but risky, area, and we are prepared to pay the price it costs to live here in paradise...

  • Most of the folks on my block are well aware of the risks -- and can afford to take those risks. But yes, point taken -- there are plenty of dummies, and even a greedy person or two...
